R=8

S= (-1 3/4 or -1.75)

R(8)- S(-1.75)/ 2

8-(-1.75)= 6.25/2=( 3.125) Answer

I believe the answer would be

8[-1 3/4]/2= 71/8

if simplified your answer would be 8 7/8
