Scientist, geologists, and archeologists believe that all of the modern continents we know today were joined together as a supercontinent call Pangea. They believe that over time, the tectonic plates of the Earth’s crust drifted apart, breaking the land, and forming new continents. They also believe the they are still, to this very day, drifting apart.
