As time goes by the virus expands, and evolves causing more people to get infected. Although people who have made it before when the virus had affected them do not get affected by the evolved virus. People who have weak immune systems when infected die. Therefore, the reason thatthe deaths and recoveries happen to rappidly is because of the virus evolving, when some people are able to withstand it whilst others die.
