[tex]x^2=64[/tex]
[tex]\sqrt{x^2}=\pm\sqrt{64}[/tex]
[tex]x=\pm8[/tex]

[tex](\pm32)^2[/tex] is 1,024.
Also, all square root functions have a positive and a negative result.
