Laura has 9.23 pounds of seeds

if it takes 7.1 pounds of seed to plant one acre of grass

let the acres of grass to be planted be x

so,

7.1 = 1 acres

9.23 = x

lets cross multiply

7.1 X x = 9.23 X 1

7.1x = 9.23

divide both sides by 7.1

7.1x/7.1 = 9.23/7.1

x = 1.3

therefore,

1.3 acres
