When it came to Domestic issues, FDR saw little opposition aside from southern congressmen and southern senators who found the New Deal far too liberal. When it came to how the US was involved in WWII, FDR found opposition in the public opinion and the majority of politicians. Once Hitler declared war and Pearl Harbor was bombed, the politicians an most of the public got behind FDR on the US involvement in WWII.
