The Red-cockaded woodpecker is known as a woodpecker which is found in southeastern North America. Some taxonomic authorities, for example, American ornithological society, which places this species in the genus called Picoides.
They feed on cockroaches, beetles, ants, and spiders. They are cooperative breeding species, nonmigratory and they frequently have the same mate for many years.
