How can ocean waves affect homes built along a coastline

Creates an elevated risk of natural disasters. For example, if a tornado or a hurricane we’re to occur, those along the coast line are in the most danger. Not to mention tsunamis. The climate can also be very different. The humidity is increased and everything is generally more damp, so wood houses are too be avoided because it would be more prone to rot or mold (as would other materials).
