b =coefficient of x term = -3
a = coefficient of squared term = 1
c = constant term = 3

Using the values in the above formula we get:

[tex]x= \frac{3+- \sqrt{9-4(1)(3)} }{2(1)} \\ \\ x= \frac{3+- \sqrt{-3} }{2} \\ \\ x= \frac{3+- \sqrt{3}i }{2} [/tex]
